PointCast Network, Inc.

Programmer Libraries for the Web Developer Community

PointCast Network™(PCN) is the re-incarnation of the "push" technology of the 90's – here today as a flash/actionscript library for web developers.

As an established brand best known for its consumer software, PointCast offered its users a live feed that would automatically deliver news and headlines over the Web to the user's PC.  This before-its-time technology relied on painfully slow dial-up connection speeds and the support of content providers who were only beginning to realize the value of their content, on-line distribution mechanisms and monetization opportunities.

Today, PCN is offering the developer community access to its programmer library, PointCast

Network Library (PCNL).  PCNL builds upon reflections/shadows, tweening and actionscript/flash elements all contributing to the overall look and imagery possible on today's dynamic websites.

- No client browser install

- Eliminates cross browsing issues

- Assists in encapsulating components (you can use other 3rd party libraries

- Assets and socket server, client and server tools work w/o security issues on port 80

- App store api via PayPal

PCN also offers a few free developer tools independent of the PCNL: Tomcat in VMWare/AWS (where you can host our JSON push server) and An Actionscript IDE (based on FlashDevelop and includes other commonly needed tools). The developer tools can be used with PCNL, but both are independent of each other. The tools could save substantial set up time.
